Can you compose music without knowing the notes?

Yes, you can! My debut album is the proof of that. Nevertheless, composing without knowing the notes has its difficulties, of course. If you can read the notes and you have a music education, composing is much less time-consuming. I, on the other hand, rely completely on my ear and taste. Another disadvantage of not being able to write down your own notes is that you have to keep a large quantity of information in your head before you have an expert write it down. Even though I record everything on video so that I don’t waste time, I make sure I remember my new material before it gets written down.
